Welcome to LivewireCH.com ^.^

Well, it's been another half year since I did anything with this page. I just finished this awesome webscript that lets me search through and download my music from anywhere, it automatically pulls everything from iTunes. I'd link to it, but since it's filled with copyrighted material, it would be illegal for anyone else to use it. (Unless of course, you already own a license to listen to a particular song.) :\ Meanwhile, I still havn't really changed anything on this site. I did clear out the songs from the links page, though. I havn't gotten any DMCA takedowns for this site, but I'd rather not risk it. Even though it's been two years already.
On a (few) note(s) completely unrelated to this site, I found this company that makes a so-called "plug computer". The plug computer runs linux and only consumes about 5 watts. I got one, and I'm halfway done configuring it as an Asterisk server. Right now, I've only got my Cisco 7921 from work set up. It registers and can make and recieve calls to the soft phone on my PC. Sooner or later, I'll transfer my home phone number over to a VoIP provider, get a nice SIP phone, and ditch my landline.
I generally avoid saying anything about any type of music, however, recently, I came across an artist that changed my general opinion of country music. She has two singles out as of the time of this writing, both of which available on iTunes. You might want to check her out, if you havn't already heard of her.

More than a year since my last update. Hm. Anyway, the WebChat server should be up and operational in it's full.. erm. "glory", if you will. Anyway, give it a try. I found all my old scripts and rewrote good portions of them for this server. Thing is, I don't even have access to the chat internal files myself, as they're stored above the root directory of my FTP access. Isn't that tons of fun. Also, the timestamp on the server is about two minutes ahead of my clock.

Well then. Apparently I messed up the date on that last post... That'd be 9/18/07, not 09. The counter on the side works again :D.. My web host uses PHP 4 - and it's not even the most up-to-date version of PHP 4. So I had to re-write all my PHP 5 specific code (pretty much just file_put_contents().) to work with my new server. But now it does... Work, that is.. Quite nicely. The counter was just a test, really. But - I'll do more later. In the meanwhile, here's a link to MORTAL KOMBAT (choose your destiny..)

Ah, yes. So today it's official. livewirech.com now works without the "www." I went out and actully paid to have my site hosted somewhere. Mistake? Probably not. It was cheap. And it's month-to-month. So I only have to pay a little bit every month, rather than all together for the whole year or whatnot. Anyway, the REALLY great thing about it is that I can use PHP with it. So now I'm gonna go off and re-design a lot of my existing pages for active content. And once I find my WebChat server code, that'll go up too. Maybe. The only thing is... I do have a bandwidth restriction. So if a lot of people use my WebChat server, I might run out of bandwidth. Needless to say, that would suck. The good news, however, is that if I was hosting a site for you before, it's still hosted in the same old boring place. Whee. That won't change any time soon. I think. The REALLY good news is that it's a LOT of bandwidth. Like, 250 GB. In fact, I think that's what it is. Which means... I'd have to average 8 gigabytes per day. or 355 megabytes per hour. Or five megabytes per minute. SO IF ANY OF YOU download any of my songs more than ten times each, I will be really pissed. -.-
Additionally, ten times is WAY more than enough to get one copy on your hard drive. Much less to listen to it.
On the INCREDIBLY bright side of the whole thing, my SPEED is insane - it doesn't seem to throttle my downloads from it, and I have 8MbPS cable from Charter. So I get like 500-600 kBps download speed from it. Which means no one should be having any problems at all in terms of speed. :D

For some time now, my server has been offline. Anyone visiting my site at all
would have noticed that the WebChat link and the counter weren't working. I
took the power supply out of my server to build a new computer; it was the only
supply I could find in my house with enough power to run a dual core processor.
So as soon as I find another lower-power system to use as my server, it'll be
back up and running again. But don't expect anything too soon.

Whew! So I got the chat room to work... (Yay!) And now my server is down. No
idea how long it's been down, since I just noticed today and I haven't really
been on a whole lot these last few weeks, what with our new RC vehicles, plus
Jesse's unfortunate incident. Anyway, the counter and the chat room are hosted
on my server, instead of my dad's, so if you see a number in the counter, chances
are good the chat room works too. ^.^
And now I'm really tired so I'm gonna get to sleep. I'm going to Palm Desert this weekend to move furnature! Yay! (lmao)

My site was becoming old and outdated (wow isn't that an understatement?) Anyway.
I've removed the CChat client link, when I get around to finishing up my chat
application, perhaps I'll re-release it. The main page has been moved to "Random
Stuff" on the sidebar. I've added a "Links/Downloads" section with links to
other files I've been collecting on my server since I left Lakewood. I figured
it might be interesting just to look through them, and it'll make it easier
for people to find stuff I've hosted for them.
Nothing on this site is dynamic. That's my dad's fault, he absolutely refuses to install PHP. -.- But if you notice any links or pages that reside on *.livewirech.com:8080, those may very well be dynamic. Just so as you know. On that note, I'm hoping to get my WebChat app back up by next month, it's long overdue. This time, I'll be hosting it myself, thanks to my vastly increased upload speed (now 1 Mb/S ^.^)
(Later that morning...) I've just added a counter too, so every new person
that loads the page will get counted. ^.^
Feel free to register for my counter so you can have your own! Just visit http://livewirech.com/counter
and you can get your own JavaScript counter code.
